The wireless Hawk system will be used in areas where there are high levels of anti-social behaviour, graffiti or environmental crime.

Domehawk CCTV cameras from MEL Secure Systems are being used to provide perimeter and site protection for The Paradise Project, Europe’s largest city centre regeneration initiative covering more than 42 acres in the heart of Liverpool.

The wireless CCTV solution is enabling the provision of enhanced levels of security across the whole of The Paradise Project development area. As well as being used in fixed locations such as street furniture, the MEL Domehawk CCTV cameras have the flexibility to be rapidly deployed to new locations as the development progresses. Being wireless, they can withstand the rigours of busy construction sites to deliver high quality, reliable images direct to a central security lodge.

We are able to overcome the challenges presented by the limited line of sight available to guarantee the transmission of high quality images over wireless links.

Ecryption: 

Besides using AES 128/256 encryption, MEL's unique standard feature is the secure ‘cut and rotate’ encryption technology that is used to comply with the Data Protection Act and ensure that unauthorised people cannot monitor transmissions.

With Infrared: 

The Street Hawk is also the only camera system to include two infrared fittings, one wide angle and one spot, enabling the system to be used even where there is no street lighting. It is also extremely robust being shotgun resistant.

The new Street Hawk cameras can be  fully integrated with the central control room where the video transmissions are received and monitored in real-time. They are recorded onto a new MEL H264 compatible hard disk recorder, which stores a complete video archive for the preceding 31 days. Stills can be printed, emailed or transferred to DVD for evidential purposes.

COFDM uses forward error-correction coding to make transmissions immune to the effects of multipath interference to give broadcast quality images whilst reducing bandwidth requirements.

The range for wireless installations is also extended to around four kilometres – a fourfold increase over analogue and Wi-Fi.
